After the recent release of a study on the similarities between confort food consumption and drug addiction, Dave Malkoff from CBS, stopped by the center to get an opinion.
In the interview, Shelly Sprague says:
“Is a potato chip equal to a dose of heroin? No…The brain is flooded with a certain level of dopamine…that creates high levels of euphoria. Addiction is a physical dependency that you will become violently ill if you do not take this substance. That is addiction.
