In a recent New York Times article, Dr. Drew answers his critics and explains why he’s different from any other TV doctor.
“Dr. Drew says he is baffled that people hold him accountable long after his on-air doctoring is done.”
Dr. Pinsky explained that “Celebrity Rehab” was his way of showing the public that addiction unchecked had serious consequences.

Pasadena Recovery Center hosted invited guests to a special private screening of Bob and the Monster, a 2011 documentary film by Keirda Bahruth which profiles musician and drug counselor Bob Forrest.
Dr. Drew and Shelly joined Bob and Keirda for some Q&A with the audience afterward.

Dr. John Sharp Talks Rehab With Dr. Drew Episode 7: Opposing Feelings
Each week after Rehab With Dr. Drew, we’ll be talking to some of the staff on hand at the Pasadena Recovery Center to find out everything that happened in front of and behind the camera with this season’s group of patients. This week we spoke to Dr. John Sharp, who appeared last season on Celebrity Rehab and was this season’s Associate Medical Director, Psychiatrist on Call, and Director of Aftercare for the program. Dr. Sharp worked closely with the patients to make sure they remained stable and successful throughout the recovery process.
